TYPES OF THERAPY

  • A collaborative process in which a trained professional helps people to navigate personal challenges, make decisions, and develop coping strategies. The goal is to foster self-awareness, emotional healing, and improved mental health. Therapists provide support and guidance in a safe, non-judgmental environment, helping clients gain insight and develop practical skills.

  • Focuses on improving relationships between partners. Designed to assist couples to navigate conflicts, improve communication and strengthen emotional connection. Conflict resolution skills, understanding emotional triggers, and exploring each partner’s needs are a few common topics. It can involve communication skills training, reconnection, breaking of trust, intimacy, and exploring the dynamics of the relationship.

  • Focuses on addressing the unique challenges and developmental issues faced during adolescence. It provides a safe space for teens to express their feelings, explore their identity, and develop coping strategies. Common topics include self-esteem, peer pressure, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideology, and academic stress. The goal is to help teenagers build resilience, improve communication skills, and enhance emotional well-being through a supportive therapeutic relationship.

  • A therapeutic approach designed for children aged 3 to 12 years of age to help them process and regulate their feelings. Play therapy assists children with learning to develop coping mechanisms and deal with behavioural issues and trauma. There are many approaches with play therapy which commonly incorporate play, art and other creative activities to give young children a safe and controlled way to express their feelings and describe their experiences in a safe environment.

  • Involves working with families to improve communication and resolve conflicts. It’s beneficial for addressing topics that affect the entire family system, such as conflict, major life changes or addiction.

  • In group therapy, individuals share their experiences and support each other under the guidance of a therapist. It’s effective for building social skills, support, learning and gaining different perspectives on personal issues.

  • A multidimensional counselling intended to assist people and couples to deal and resolve sexual issues, increase closeness and boost sexual satisfaction. Sex therapy combines psychological, emotional and physical approaches to overall promote healthy sexual relationships.
