Organisational Psychology | Leadership Development | Management Training | Workplace Wellbeing

BA, PGDip, MA (Hons), MHS (Hons) – Psychology

With over 20 years of professional experience working with individuals, organisations and businesses, I bring a combination of advanced psychological qualifications, practical business leadership and extensive experience in supporting people to achieve their potential.

My Master's-level qualifications include Organisational Psychology and Health Science (Psychology), providing a strong foundation in understanding workplace behaviour, employee performance, leadership, organisational culture, motivation and psychological wellbeing.

Alongside my academic and professional background, I have successfully established, developed and managed several businesses over the past two decades. This has given me valuable firsthand experience of the realities employers and managers face, including managing staff, building effective teams, navigating conflict, making difficult decisions, managing organisational change and maintaining business performance.

I understand business from both a psychological and commercial perspective. I recognise that successful organisations need more than policies and procedures. They need capable leaders, effective communication, motivated employees and a workplace culture that supports both performance and wellbeing.

Leadership, Management & Organisational Development

Through Employment Counselling Services (ECS), I work with businesses to strengthen their leadership capabilities, support management teams and improve workplace effectiveness.

My areas of expertise include:

  • Leadership Development: Building confident, capable leaders with the skills to motivate, guide and support their teams.

  • Management Training: Practical training in people management, staff performance, difficult conversations, delegation and decision-making.

  • Workplace Communication: Strengthening communication between employees, managers and leadership teams.

  • Conflict Resolution: Helping businesses manage workplace tension, interpersonal difficulties and challenging employee relationships.

  • Psychological Safety: Supporting organisations to develop healthier workplace cultures where employees feel respected, supported and able to contribute.

  • Organisational Change: Supporting businesses and employees through restructuring, uncertainty, workplace transitions and change.

  • Employee Wellbeing & EAP Services: Providing professional counselling and psychological support to help employers address workplace and personal challenges affecting their employees.

  • Workplace Stress & Burnout: Helping managers recognise and respond to workplace stress, emotional demands and employee wellbeing concerns.

  • Team Development: Improving team relationships, accountability, collaboration and workplace performance.

A Practical, Evidence-Informed Approach

My work draws on organisational psychology, neuroscience, behavioural psychology, cognitive behavioural approaches and evidence-informed counselling principles.

Rather than offering generic management advice, I focus on understanding each organisation's individual challenges and developing practical strategies that can be implemented in everyday business operations.

Having personally built and managed multiple businesses, I understand the pressures associated with leadership, staffing, financial responsibilities, growth and maintaining high professional standards.

This combination of advanced psychological education, more than 20 years of professional experience and direct business ownership enables me to approach organisational challenges with an understanding of both human behaviour and commercial realities.

I am committed to providing New Zealand businesses with professional, responsive and practical workplace support.

I place particular importance on the quality and ethical standards of our services, ensuring that our counsellors, trainers and facilitators deliver professional support appropriate to the needs of each organisation.

My aim is to help employers create workplaces where employees are supported, managers are equipped to lead effectively, and organisations can operate successfully.

Whether your business needs employee counselling, leadership development, management training, workplace conflict support or wider organisational wellbeing services, ECS offers solutions tailored to your business.
